Mandag aften kl. 21.16 bragte b.dk en bemærkelsesværdig tekst af Kaspar Colling Nielsen, forfatteren, der er taleskriver for klimaminister Dan Jørgensen. Den var mildest talt en alarmerende. Konklusion var, at kun statsministeren og Gud kan redde os fra ragnarok.

Fem dage tidligere havde Mette Frederiksen bragt landet i undtagelsestilstand og sagt, at ”nu må vi holde samme ved at holde afstand”, en lille retorisk perle af en oneliner, sandsynligvis skrevet af Anita Furu, der, når hun ikke skriver statsministertaler, skriver romaner. Talerskriver var Anita Furu længe før hun blev romanforfatter. Omvendt med hendes tre kolleger, Kaspar Colling Nielsen, Peder Frederik Jensen og Lars Husum, der alle var romanforfattere, før de lod sig ansætte som loyale embedesmænd og nu skriver taler for henholdsvis klimaministeren, miljøministeren og undervisningsministeren.

Egentlig havde jeg troet, at sådan et job var uforeneligt med at skrive holdningstekster under eget navn om politiske emner, men Kaspar Colling Nielsen har fået grønt lys til den dystopiske realisme. Hans uhyggeligt pessimistiske tekst er samtidig en dyb tillidserklæring til hans chefs chef: ”I denne situation, hvor tragedien er evident, og vi bare venter på, at dramaet udvikler sig, priser jeg mig lykkelig over, at vi har en statsminister, som tager ansvaret på sig og udviser lederskab af historisk format. Det gør mig glad, lidt mindre bange, og en lille smule fortrøstningsfuld for fremtiden, for vi har brug for, at politikerne tager magten tilbage fra de rå og hjernedøde markedskræfter. Vi har brug for forstandig politisk ledelse, ikke bare nu, men også når denne krise er ovre.”

Et par dage inden havde Carsten Jensen ment nogenlunde det samme i Jyllands-Posten. Efter nogle måneder i USA, og nu på vej hjem til Danmark igen, kritiserede han den autoritært tænkende præsident Trumps handlingslammelse og populisme for at nå frem til en overraskende patriotisk (!) pointe: ”Jeg vender hjem til et land, der på en ansvarlig måde tager sine borgeres liv og velfærd alvorligt (…) Danmark er et levende, arbejdende demokrati med ansvarsfulde ledere, der ved, at tillid og villighed til at give afkald vinder man kun ved at sige sandheden. Den danske selvisolation er praktisk, nødvendig og bevis på handlekraft.”

Carsten Jensen er ikke ironisk. Men han ser måske noget andet, end statsministeren gerne vil have. Han ser nemlig coronasolidariteten som en praktisk øvelse, der kan forberede os på at stoppe klimaforandringerne. Det er håbefulde ord. Men også, måske, forhastede ord. Endnu ved vi jo ikke, hvor dybt den danske solidaritet stikker. Under storkonflikten, også kendt som gærkrisen, i 1998 måtte Carsten Jensen selv styrte ud blandt hamstrende folk for at skaffe bleer til sin baby. Det skrev han om i År to og tre.

Kaspar Colling Nielsen og Carsten Jensen har det til fælles, at de stoler på statsministeren. Førstnævnte er nok nødt til det qua sit job. Sidstnævnte plejer at være maksimalt magtkritisk og mistroisk. Men begge er indiskutabelt oprigtige. Når man læser dem, smitter deres bekymring som en virus, og det er kun godt, selvom det rokker ved vores livsvaner. Kaspar Colling Nielsen vil masseturismen til livs: ”Risikoen for, at en eller anden idiot lige har ædt et desmerdyr, der lige er blevet skidt på af en flagermus, er for stor, den er overhængende.”

Samme naturbillede brugte Morten Søndergaard i Information i fredags i et særdeles fint, melankolsk og dystert bekymringsdigt, der kobler sygdommen til den antropocæne naturbevidsthed: ”Nogen har spist en flagermus i Kina/ og den lille bløde, lodne krop ændrede verden.// Dette er ikke verdens ende, men måske/ er det på tide, at give den tilbage til flagermusene.”

For nylig læste jeg et essay af den eminente kinesiske forfatter Yan Lianke (forsiden af BØGER i dag). Han skriver, at når samfundet i en ikke så fjern fremtid vil begynde at fejre sejren over Covid-19, skal de kinesiske forfattere finder sig et fjernt hjørne, for deres opgave er at iagttage, huske og fortælle, hvad der skete. Yan Lianke har selv været statsansat forfatter i den kinesiske hær, så han ved, hvad litterær frihed er og ikke er.

Kina var coronas arnested. Men Yan Liankes litterære ideal gælder også her i landet. Virussen, den sociale forandring og demokratiske anomali, vi pludselig har fået svøbt om skuldrene uden at afgive meget mere end nogle sporadiske skeptiske muk, er fantastisk stof for forfatterne. Corona er det største og mest dramatiske danmarkshistoriske litterære materiale siden besættelsen – lige præcis i 75-året for befrielsen: Landet lukker ned. Undtagelsestilstand. Grænselukning. Indskrænket forsamlingsfrihed. Ikke fem forbandede år, men måske fem forbandede uger, inden det bliver forår og Danmark frit.

Når samfundet er blevet forandret til en forhekset skov, er det ordenes bro, der skal hjælpe os fra undtagelsestilstanden tilbage til den genkendelige verden. Lad endelig forfatterne skrive opbyggelige statsmandstaler, der måske nok kan indgyde skræmte befolkninger mod. Men der opstår et behov til de litterære, poetiske og dramatiske coronakrisefortællinger, der engang i den nære fremtid skal fortolke vores sære nutid. Forfatterne skal naturligvis være med, når vi holder sammen ved at holde afstand, men når fiktionen skal skrives, har vi ikke længere brug for coronapatriotisme. Så har vi brug for magtkritiske fortællinger om frygten og forvirringen under dette globale samfundseksperiment. Forfattere, find jeres hjørne.
